Tourist spots in Pekanbaru and Bagansiapi-api? |
Travel Info I'll be traveling to Pekanbaru and Bagansiapi-api in Indonesia in two days. It'll be my first time to go there. Any suggestions and tips? Travel Tips None. Except play golf in the new and talked-about Pekanbaru golf course. On your way to Bagansiapi-siapi (I presume you will go by car) you will pass one tourist spot (if you can call it a tourist spot) along the main road - the first oil well of Indonesia(about 30~45 min from PKU). That well is already dry but there is a pumping unit and monument marker dedicated by Soeharto. It is past Chevron Minas Camp on the right. Bagansiapi-api is a fishing town and you can get fresh seafoods there, no touirist spot. It is a long drive from Pekanbaru to Bagansiapi-api, passing though the oil-rich towns of Minas (the famous Sumatra Light Oil) & Duri (the world's largest steamflood). Others hi there... none of i know it... pekanbaru is oil town... not much of it... u can ask people from shell or caltex though... as for bagansiapi-api is fishing town.... local fisher though... if u are looking for seafood i think its a nice spot.... mostly community there are chinese.... thats all i know man... I am from Pekanbaru.. I dont think we have any tourist spot.. Pekanbaru is known as a business city, not a tourist city.. yeah ofcourse u can go to the zoo ( but it is not that nice), u can go to the amusement park -kaca mayang ( but i dont know if they are still open!!!!!!).. |
