Others Prawn Cocktail carrot and coriander soup Roast dinner Steak and chips Bar B Cue chicken melt Fruit salad Death by chocolate Every time we travel outside of teeside we miss escalope parmesan. I know it sounds like a dish from abroad but I promise you its a local thing and we cant get enough of it. Its a favourite after a night out and also as a take-away ordered in. If I opened an eating place abroad it would be a parmesan house so that everyone could enjoy it. Its a escalope of pork or chicken with a layer of bechemel sauce and then a layer of cheese on top grilled until golden. Its served with chips salad and garlic sauce. For traditionally English I would opt for mince and crispy dumplings with a hot apple & rhubarb crumble served with ice cream to finish! bacon and eggs is really good in london. i didn't buy a house in spain so i could get rubbish bacon and eggs. why don't you put a big sign outside saying "you're in spain. the food is good. if you want english food clear off back to england" You do not say what class of restaurant so I will assume the worst! Home made soup in winter. a great profit earner. Seasonal salad Melon / figs when in season with ham (Jamon de Teruel) Prawn cocktail All day full English breakfast.( Get the bacon that does not have the small bits of bone in it). Coronation chicken. ( There is a place in Mallorca that lives on chicken in a light curry sauce) Fish & chips (English batter) Real chips? Steak & chips with chips Patatas Bravas. English Spanish omlette (with peppers in it , not potatoes). Ham and salad. (Use up Sunday roasts) Spanish macarones are great for kids Ice creams Crema Catalana Lemon merengue pie Pavlova Sangria Chupitos of lemon sorbet with a slug of Southern comfort. Tinto de verano Suggestions: Mince & potatoes (Lee & Perrins & peas) Steak pie. Sunday lunches with roast beef, pork, ham with all the trimmings can really pull in the local expats if they are good quality and fair value for money. Fish pie with some prawns in . Baked Alaska Adult trifle (lots of booze) A full packet 1 kilo of frozen raw whole jumbo prawns grilled up and served with garlic mayonaisse for the 'foodies' Have decent house wine and do not buy what your supplier says. Buy what you like. Remember the sweeter taste of most tourist Brits. Flog Cava. But don't sell the hangover stuff. Try rose wines from Ribero de Duero. Been there;done that my favourite are for starters prawn cocktail sopa de picadillo (soup based on spanish ham eggs and mint) melon con jamon (spanish ham and melon) for main meals oven baked fish with tomatoes and potatoest paella sunday roast for desserts strawberries and cream ice cream banofee pie |
