RCI resorts?

We "won" a holiday to Tenerife through RCI for 拢99 2 weeks- is it a con do you think? We have to go to one of those "presentaions" Its very tempting but wondering if we're just going to get hassled.

Remember if you "win" a prize, then you shouldn't have to pay for it.
That said, I've done this kind of thing myself before and it was fine.
We did ours in Lanzarote, it was the same kind of thing but we did have to go to a presentation and endure 3 hours of hard sell from the salesman. It seemed to go on forever but luckily my hubby was quite forceful and said we would not be buying anything so eventually they let us go!

At the end of the day, where can you buy 2 weeks accomodation for 拢99? I'm sure the RCI accomodation will be very nice and if you go with both eyes open and you are very clear you're not buying then look at it this way... the "presentation" is just one day from your 2 weeks holiday!

You could always make sure that you tell them you "won" a prize and keep telling them that you are under no obligation to buy. You must be firm though.

I agree with Lady Trav....what she says is totally true...I worked in the RCI/timeshare industry for the last 14 years all over Europe...I have just changed into a different industry though....timeshare is very good for some people...not so good for others...its not a con,it depends on how you use it and where you want to travel to!

If staying there for 2 weeks...go to some other presentations at different resorts as well...Hollywood Mirage is lovely..but pretty expensive! it really depends on what you want...but the system of RCI does work, particularly if you wish to travel long-haul!!
