Israelies : If you were a guide to a cristian tourest, where would you take him/her ? |
Travel Info My answer would be : Haifa, Jerusalem, Beth-Lehem, Nazareth. Could you tell me where would you take him in these cities (being specific would really help) ? Not only "cristian" sites, but interesting places to go to in these cities. Any other cities you would take him/her to ? And where ? Travel Tips Any guide that is showing Christians Israel can not leave out a visit to the sea of Galilee where Jesus calmed the waters and walked on the water. The Jordan River where Jesus was baptised by John. The Synagogue and St. Peter's House Capernaum - Sea of Galilee Mount of Beatitudes - Sea of Galilee The Church of Multiplication - Tabgha - Sea of Galilee Bethlehem: Chapel of the Nativity of Christ, Bethlehem, Israel Nazareth: Church of St. Gabriel - Nazareth Haifa: Mt Carmel Monastery of the Carmelite Sisters - Haifa Other site if Interest in Haifa is The Bahai Shrine - Haifa Jerusalem: Church of the holy Sepulchre, Jerusalem The Golden Gate (Gate of Mercy) - Jerusalem Lion's Gate - Jerusalem Damascus Gate - Jerusalem The Citadel (David's Tower) - Jerusalem . Church of All Nations and Garden of Getsemeny The Garden Tomb - Jerusalem Mount Of Olives Church of St. Mary Magdalene - Mount of Olives The Ethiopian Church - Jerusalem The Russian Orthodox Cathedral - Jerusalem Jaffa Gate - Jerusalem The Old City and western wall (take the tunnel tour under the wall). Lets not forget: The Roman Theatre - Caesarea The Roman Aqueduct - Caesarea OR . Kidron Valley Tombs - "Pillar of Absalom", Tomb of St. James and Zachariah's Tomb Basilica of Transfiguration - Mount Tabor Yad Vashem, Museums, Dead sea, En Gedi Masada, Yehuda street in Jerusalem, Jaffa just outside Tel Aviv (Jonah& the whale) and much more. There isnt a place in Israel that one can not find something of interest whether it be Christian or Hebrew. Since the two are interconnected--it pays to see them all. Others Antioch is a place in the Bible may be there. You should see the Dead Sea, Masada, Hebron, Jericho, and BerSheva. However-make sure you have a Christian guide, for at least part of your trip, as Jews cannot go to some of these places as they are now in Palestinian control. The guide will make sure you see all the important sights. There are so many good guides in Israel, Jews and non- Jews. I would also suggest going to Lake Genazereth where Jesus supposedly walked on the water and fed the hungry population with fish. Mount Tabor is also a sacred place and there are other places as well, but the main ones are as mentioned by you.. Hanegev, the Negev desert, it is beautiful Haifa: I would go to the French Carmel, where over there you can go down the Carmel to get to the religous site (RELIGOUS FOR ALL RELIGIONS) of Joshua's cave - 诪讛专转 讬讛讜砖讜注 - :-] Jerusalem: Ofcourse! The Old city which is filled with many interesting long ago attractions! There is the: Armenian Quarter Arab Quarter Jewish Quarter Christian Quarter Bet Lehem: Not very interesting sites. You should go to Tel Aviv. It's filled with many new aged attractions from the Azrieli Towers to Old Jaffa! (you should check the internet or google for others) Nazareth: As an Israeli Jewish person, I have not yet been to Nazareth. But trust me, it's probbaly filled with many Christian - Arab attraction from the Christian bible. It's a pretty big city- I've seen (when I was on my way to Tiberias which is also a fantastic place for attractions Jewish Hotels and Christina (Irish) churches!) it but not been there yet! Enjoy youre stay :-) My traveling in Israel! |
