To Israelis! Question about the Middle East Conflict.? |
Travel Info So the situation between you and your neighbors is pretty bad. Wouldnt ya say?? You say they are terrorists, they say you are terrorists. They say they want their land back from your illegal occupation of it, you say its "not theirs" and is "not on the table" (The Palestinian West Bank (Your annexing large parts of it, The Syrian Golan Heights, East Jerusalem, the Lebanese Shebaa Farms, the Gaza Strip which Sharon gave up)) You say the Arabs "don't want Peace" yet while there were no suicide bombers, or Palestinian attacks against Israel, Israel was still killing Palestinians (The Gaza Beach Massacre comes to mind). So here is the question. Why doesn't Israel just move back to the 1967 Borders and Finally sign a Peace treaty with all the Arabs??? The Arabs have proposed this many times but Israel has always either rejected it or ignored it. As in, Why won't you give up or give back the Entire West Bank, Including East Jerusalem, The Golan Heights and Shebaa Farms?? Travel Tips Israel already offered what you suggest and it was turned down by none other than Arafat. The Arabs want ALL of Israel--just doing a tiny bit of research would show you that. Israel is not rich in oil. Nor are they Arabs concerned with tourism or they would not have allowed the areas they control to turn into armed camps. No one was kicked out--they left--the Arabs that stayed are now citizens of a democratic country. I really find it interesting that when this subject is brought up the fact that prior to the creation of the State of Israel and before that Israel was a waste land with the exception of a few Jewish communities. The Arab population were no-mads and both peoples got along. No one can find or show any evidence of a Palestinian country--ever. Others To '1Proudjew': 'Yasser' is impersonating as an Arab and a Muslim. Everyone has seen through his pretense. You should too. Well Zoro..that's pretty simplistic view you have. A few years ago the Israel Parliament voted to give back to Palestinians almost all you listed and it was taken as a sign of weakness by the Arabs there and so they launched bomb, rocket and suicide attacks against Israelis for several days while Israel stood firm thinking the attacks would stop and sanity would prevail. After several more days of killing, Israel gave up and that's the way it is over there. Those PLF dudes know only one thing..KILL. The short answer is: the surrounding Arab states ganged up and attacked us in '67 and lost these territories as a consequence. Why should the victor return the prize to the loser, who initiated the war to begin with? The Golan Heights are of immense strategic value (source of much of Israel's water and strategic military vantage point overlooking northern Israel), so those definitely are not going to be given up. Finally, the Arabs talk peace out of one side of their mouth, but call for our destruction through the other side. Difficult to trust their sincerity and their motives. Zorro, The answer to your question is simple: Israel doesn't move back to the 1967 borders and make peace because Israel doesn't WANT peace. Israel wants the land, the oil, the money, the fertile soil, the tourism, the "Promised Land," and Israel wants to push off the people originally living there. Yes, it would be a nice, easy solution if they decided to make peace, but by the way things are looking it doesn't seem as if that's going to happen.... lived in palestine |
