My friend got this email that says he can go to Israel for free, no cost at all? |
Travel Info There is a company that sends Jewish kids age 18-25 to Israel for free. My friend is thinking of doing it, but he doesnt know if its a scam. You have to prove that you are Jewish and there is a $250 deposit. Travel Tips It sounds like you are talking about the Taglit / Birthright tour. I know the trip used to be free but I don't know if it still is because I think it's run by someone else now. It is possible that it is free though, and with the description you have given about the trip I would NOT say it is scam! I myself went on the tour in 2003 and it was great! Let him have a look into it to find out more...maybe you could join him too! It's an opportunity not to be missed! Have a look here to find out more about birthright: http://www.birthrightisrael.org/bin/en.j... http://www.hillel.org/israel/default...SCAM....or possibly...some kinda .....kipnapping type thing? doesnt sound good. why does he have to be jewish? if its free why do you need a deposit? $250 deposit!!! Why do you have to pay a deposit on a "FREE" trip?? It's a scam!! Spam email. Of course it's a scam. Anything that offers something for free and then asks for a "deposit" is a scam. It's a scam. If it's free, what on earth would they need a $250 deposit for? Anything "free" should not ask for money, or a credit card. |
