If I visit Israel, will the Israeli Government put anything on my papers? Will I be able to go home?

Travel Info
I'm an Egyptian eighteen-year-old male and I'm considering visiting Israel sometime in the near future to meet some very good friends of mine who live in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and to explore my interest in Judaism. Egypt has an Embassy with Israel but I've heard the Egyptian Government gives Egyptians who travel to Israel a very hard time, suspecting them of espionage and putting them on probation. Also, most Arab countries won't allow anyone with an Israeli visa in their passport to enter. Does the Israeli Government do anything to make things easier to travelers? Will I be able to go home or travel to other Arab countries again?

Travel Tips
Assuming that the Israelis grant you a tourist visa, you can request that they put it on a seperate piece of paper instead of directly into your passport. If you cross at Rafia, however, you'll be out of luck, since even if the Israelis don't put anything there you'll still have an exit stamp from Egypt.

Israel and Egypt, despite their differences, do still have formal diplomatic relations, and you will be able to go home. But if you try to visit one of the many Arab countries that doesn't have relations with Israel (Syria, Sudan, many others) you will almost certainly run into problems. Good luck! Other Travel Tips
You will probably get an Eqyptian exit stamp and Israeli entry and exit stamps. You can ask them to fix a detachable sheet in your passport but I don't see why it's necessary unless you plan to visit Syria or Lebanon on the same passport.

I have no idea if you will get any problems on your return to Egypt as an Egyptian citizen. But I crossed into Egypt from Israel at Taba and back again after 2 1/2 months and the only problem was that the Israelis, as always when you leave the country, want to know everywhere you've been and ask you lots of silly questions. I'd been to Jenin for example and they didn't like that one bit!(I'm British).

I spent eight months and three months in Israel and have the stamps to show for it, but since then I've been in other Muslim countries (Malaysia and Indonesia) without problems, although Israelis cannot visit those countries.

Good luck!
