What kind of vacinations do I need to go from Canada to Israel?

Travel Info
Tetanus, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio

Do I need those vacinations if I'm only going for a couple of weeks?

If I had one or more vacinations, but don't know for sure, is there any possible side effect from repeat vacinations?

Travel Tips
The mentioned vacinations are not travel related and should be done anyway.

Israel: Immunisation against typhoid and poliomylitis is occasionally recommended.

No vacination is required for traveling to Israel

Because Israel has a great health care system you can get a tetanus vacinations if it's necessary.
If you received a measles vacination before - it should provide you with a lifelong immunity
When ever you receive a vacination side effects can occur. In this forum nobody will be able and authorized to tell what might the side effects with you. Talk to your doc about your concerns.
But - going to Israel for a couple of weeks, there is nothing to worry about regarding your health. Just drink only bottled water and wash your hands regulary.

Other Travel Tips
You might want to consider a hepatitis A+B vaccination, as it is somewhat common in the Mediteranean area. Also, meningitis is a good vaccine in general, not connected to Israel. There are no required vaccines to come to Israel, and no dangerous diseases that you need to worry about that doesn't exist in Canada as well. Furthermore, Israel has embraced western medicine, and Israeli doctors are well qualified.
You can drink tap water, just be warned that the chemical/mineral make-up is somewhat different from that of Canada, so your digestive track may take some time to adjust. It would be easier to stick to bottled water, but the water in Israel is perfectly safe for consumption. You should probably wash your hands to the same degree you would wash them in Canada.
you dont need any vaccinations, I've gone to israel tons fo times (i live in the us) and i never needed any shots. have fun on your trip! israel is a beautiful country, the mix of ancient history and modern culture is really cool, and the weather is so nice and warm, even at night! have fun!

Israel is a western developed country. I dont think you need any special vaccination unless your doc recommend you. If you ask me as a citizen here I would recommend you to consume mineral water if you get to Tel Aviv and it's area. The other places are O.k. Dont forget hat and skin guard...
