Travel Info hey.. how r u feeling about the late strikes? :) I have mixed feelings... I heard that they might add school days to the end of the year :| anyhoo, happy 诇"讙 讘注讜诪专 :) Travel Tips It's fun now to have vacation days, but we'll pay for it later. Personally, most of my teachers come anyways to teach material for the exams, and we owe them alot. I understand that the teachers are extremely under-paid. They definitely deserve to earn more than they're getting. But what about us students?!! It's killing our future: Exams may be postponed, and, like you said, school days will probably be added in the summer. Striking, in general, has become a problem in Israel. It's not solving anything. I know they've tried other ways of getting the ministry's attention, but the teachers' organization has to come up with a better tactic (that doesn't involve hurting us). Other Travel Tips i don't even know what that is I don't know.... for one thing I like being at home and I do think it's for good cause, I don't have 15000 nis to pay every year!! it's insane! but we are missing a lot of school days... it's bad I wouldn't compare the University strike to the high-school strike. I think the teachers striking now is very irresponsible; with bagruyot coming up most kids can't afford to have this time wasted. I feel like it's a game of 'chicken' between the government and the teachers; it's like there both watching a child run towards a cliff, and instead of steering said child in the right direction they're just staring each other down trying to see who can hold out longest. If teachers want to strike they should do it in a way that doesn't overly harm their pupils. With regards the university strike, all my sources are telling me that it is overwhelmingly supported by the students. While I hate to lose this much time, if something is that important to that many people then I'm sure it's important. I do think the government completely backstabbed the students, and they're reaping what they have sown. |
