Travel Info What time of the year is best to visit Jerusalem? Travel Tips I think the winter is the best time. Jerusalem sits at around 800m above sea so in the winter the clouds sometimes touch the top of the hills and you feel closer to heaven... Besides that it has some kind of special ambient or feel which is different than the rest of Israel (in the winter), The grayish light fits the stones from which the city is built and the air is clear and refreshing. In addition, since there are almost no holidays the prices should be lower than spring and summer. I wouldn't concern about the weather since Israel has a very moderate climate, on worst case you would have some snow which usually becomes a real festival for the people (which sometimes comes from Tel-Aviv to see the "wonder"). Spring is also nice but in the summer it might be a bit hot. Others I would say Spring and Summer and maybe early fall. We have a lot of Jewish holidays during those seasons, like Passover, Rosh HaShana (Jewish New Year) and Sukkot. and the weather is pleasant. Fall or spring. It's not too cold, not too hot. never cuz u wont know where u are 2 I think it gets a little too hot for comfort during the summer, and much of the winter you get stuck in the rain. I would say the springtime would be best, as you get to experience Passover in Israel, as well as Memorial and Independence Day, Jerusalem day, Lag Ba'Omer and maybe even Shavuot if you stay awhile. Weather wise it's beautiful. as everything is still green from the recent winter rains, while the temperature is warm but not hot and the chances of being rained on are slim. |
