Travel Info Does anyone know an apartment to rent in jerusalem or a jewish youth hostel? Travel Tips A good hostel is the Yitzhak Rabin Hostel, not far from the Knesset. But the cheapest are in the Old City. They are Arab-run but plenty of Jews stay there. The Lutheran Hostel is the best and cleanest, but it's dorms only. Jaffa Gate Hostel probably has the cheapest rooms. Both are near Jaffa Gate. Others Go to the Craigslist. I have regularly rented Jerusalem apartments through this site with great success. I believe it is the best. in the old city there is a Jewish youth hostel that is the safest i have found it is called heritage house.it is free, you have access to bathrooms and you are in the Jewish quarter. no meals are served except for shabbat they will set you up with someone for all your meals. havdallah there is a small meal but nice. there is free Internet and a kitchen for you to use. i stayed for a while, they do try to get you to go to classes in the old city. if you wanted an apartment, don't look in the Jewish quarter they are way too pricey. go to yahoo groups search flathuntings. they have vacation and year round apartment listings that are in English all over Jerusalem. good luck. |
