i don't hate the labanese people but i'm not much of a friend to them... I think Israel and Lebanon will get along someday but it's not going to be soon.
There are two large divisions in Lebanon. And a large part of one of them probably will never get along.
Not too long ago Lebanon had a good thing going. Too bad for it now.
I think Israel could get along with the Lebanese, at least with those Lebanese factions who favor democracy, who favor freedom, who are progressive minded and Western-leaning. I think many Israelis, to varying degrees, are aware of the different camps that exist within Lebanon. Do they like the Hezballah camp? Clearly not. Do they like the pro-West, pro-democracy camps? I think the answer to this varies among individuals, but, in general, I think most Israelis have at least marginally positive views of this group.

Lebanon is divided by two factions, Sunni Muslims and Christians. There have been times of peace and harmony over the last 50 years, but there have also been many times of tension and conflict. During the last Israeli conflict, the Christians did not want trouble and did not support the war. The Muslim Lebanese were the agitators. Turkey has similar problems, but on a much smaller scale, (for now).
It is beyond my understanding why Israel and Lebanon do not have peace (beyond the obvious of Hezbollah).

Neither side wants to conquer the other and as you said for an "Arabic" country Lebanon is very liberal.

When you add the fact that they both have a common enemy in Syria it is amazing that they have not put their differences aside already and formed a close bond.
