What is aqaba port? |
Travel Info What is aqaba port? Travel Tips Yes, as Itay said Aqaba is Jordan's only seaport. It lies at the head of the Gulf of Aqaba, one of the two finger-shape branches at the end of the Red Sea. It is at the point where Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel and Egypt almost meet. From the Saudi/Jordan border it's only about 30km of Jordanian territory to the Israeli border at Eilat, and a further 20km to Egypt. This odd circumstance was created by the UN in 1947 so that Israel and Jordan could have sea outlets to the south and not depend on Egypt to use the Suez Canal. Others The Port of Aqaba Lies on Latitude 29-31 North, Longitude 35-01 East. It is situated in southern Jordan on the north shore of the Gulf of Aqaba. Aqaba is Jordan's strategically located seaport. Aqaba is Jordan's only port and it's situated on the Red Sea. It's about 250,000 people. And is Jordan's #2 or 3 city. Brandy infused wine perhaps, don't know really, but if it is, can some one send me a bottle to sample? Aqaba port used to be part of Saudi Arabia. |
