Has any one been to the red sea over the December period? |
Travel Info is it still warm?? is it worth going in Dec/Jan?? Travel Tips YES::YES Go...you will have agreat time, the weather is great...it is beautiful and not a Muslim country like what the idiot answered above!! Eilat was built to secure Israel an access to the Red Sea and as such it is sandwiched on either side by Egypt and Jordan. The Hilton hotel in Taba on Egyptian land was originally built on Israeli soil, but handed over later. Eilat has a very small airport in the centre of town, but this is usually used for smaller internal flights. It has numerous hotels and apartments, there is an enclosed shopping precinct and a smattering of restaurants. There are fewer amenities as you head away from the beach and the main part of town. As a resort it is not fantastic, but it is not an over built mass of hotels. Have fun - it is a great country xx Source(s): http://www.bpe.com/travel/middle_east/ei... http://www.answers.com/topic/eilat... Other Travel Tips go birding in Eilat http://users.tkk.fi/~lsarakon/eilat-bird... hi kit' its fabulous & tho it's a muslim country all the bigger hotels celebrate xmas&new year in a better way than any other country i have been to over that period. The climate is good varies between late 60's mid 70's most of the hotels have heated pools but if your not into sitting around a pool all day there is so much to see...cairo's a must the pyramids are so serile&the egyptian museum shouldn't be missed either! I recommend Sharm el sheikh!!!! Enjoy your trip wherever you decide to go!!!! Eilat's fabulous during the winter, it's like Florida. You have a battle on your hands. You can sunbathe in your swimming costume in Eilat during December, January and February - but you have to get out of the wind. As soon as everybody else realises this, they get up early and put their towel on a sunbed out of the wind but in the sun by the pool before they go off to breakfast. And here is the answer - Don't stand for it - simple as that. First of all make sure the towel doesn't belong to somebody in the pool. Once you've checked that out - simply remove all the towels etc lay down and make yourself comfortable. When they come back to 'their' bed and complain, simply say "Don't know what you're talking about. There was nothing on this chair." So, what they gonna do, huh? If they complain to hotel staff they willl just shrug their shoulders and walk away because they also hate people doing this. Have fun. Oh, by the way - if these people should happen to be German, you should also add "The war's been over for 60 years, mate" Always goes down well in Israel! |
