Is Sept or Oct a good time to go to Tel Aviv? |
Travel Info Hi All Thinking about going to Tel Aviv - want to go when it's a bit cheaper - therefore after school holidays. Is it any good over there in Sept/Oct. Also, as well as living it up in the party capital of Israel, was also thinking about visiting Jerusalem. Anyone know how far it is from Tel Aviv, what the travel links are like, if we'd be better of getting a hire car... Where are the good places to go also for a group of 25-30 yr old lads to have some beers etc. Thanks Travel Tips September and October is a great time to go to Tel Aviv. The weather is not too hot and not too cold. Jerusalem is about 70-90km from Tel Aviv. Depending on the traffic, it can take up to 1,5 hours. You can get to Jerusalem by: -car- you can hire a car (not recommended since traffic is very bad and parking is usually very difficult) -train- takes about 1,5-2 hours (as there is not direct link between the two cities) -bus- costs about 17NIS (4,25 USD or 2GBP) -sheirut- shared taxi- it's the best option if you are travelling in a group as it's reasonably priced (price depends on how many people are going) and it drops you off exactly where you want to be dropped off in Jerusalem; once you're in Jerusalem I recommend using a taxi cab to get around (very inexpensive if you split it with several other people; be sure to insist that they turn on the 'monei'- the meter) -the best places for a group of 25-30 yr old lads to go to are the Old Port (Ne'emal) in north Tel Aviv (near Reading Power Station), Neve Tzedek, Florentine, Dizengoff/Ben Yehuda Streets, the Tayelet (beach side promenade), Sheinkin Street Others first of all september-october is a great timw!!! it's not too hot so believe me it's importent!!! good places to go are: Eilat!!!!!!! the Dead Sea!!!! when you'll be in Tel Aviv visit Jaffa (Yafo in hebrew) Yes, but I think anytime is good. You can sign up for a trip to Israel with a Synagogue near you and that can be cheaper. |
