I am excited for my trip to Israel this summer, but? |
Travel Info It's gonna be hot and on one of my questions I posted, most answers said I have to cover my arms and legs. I'm not a sleeze but I always feel comfortable in shorts and tank tops. Can you guys please give me advice why I can't wear shorts or tank tops? Thanks. Travel Tips It's simple: you need to protect your arms and legs from the sun. That's why you see people who live in sunny, hot, or tropical countries always seeking shade. The sun's rays can cause skin problems that can be severe. Better to chose a country further north than go to Israel. Also, it's a lot safer to go elsewhere, like the Adriatic coast. Others just wear a ton of sunscreen. you will still get really tan even with it! Since when do you have to cover up your arms and legs in Israel?!?!?! Evidently, none of those people has been to Tel Aviv in the summer....because no one wears clothes there (I am exaggerating, of course, but not by much). In more religious places like Jerusalem, for example, then you will be expected to cover up your arms and legs in some of the more religious neighborhoods. In that case, you can wear a long, flowing dress- something light and comfortable. cover your arms and legs or wear a lot of sunscreen. it's the sun. You can wear shorts and tank tops, but there are places where it is not a smart idea to do so. Such as around some parts of Jerusalem their its not such a good idea, anywhere else you will be fine. Well, whoever told you those stuff was completely wrong. You can hang out here wearing whatever you want. Actually, most people wear short clothes because, as you said, it's very hot in here, especially in the Summer time. The ONLY places where you will have to cover yourself are holly places such as Jerusalem (only in some parts of the city.. you might want to find out if the places you'll visit in Jerusalem are those particular areas), especially the Western Wall, and synagogs.
