It is really quite simple, different religous groups want to live apart from eachother. there is only so much prime real estate in the middle east. they fight over land. One reason for the ongoing animosity against Isreal is THEY FIGHT FOR LAND. and when they take it in a battle they don't give it back at the negotiating table. Every country that attacked Isreal lost ground and they resent that.the Isrealis consider it the price you pay for attacking them.
