I lived in Israel and Palestine, and I met Jews (and Christians and even Muslims) with many different opinions on the conflict and its roots. Problem is, both sides are mis-educated by propaganda and historical inaccuracy. Your maps website is obviously partisan from the Arab side, but people should see it for balance. You should go there and see what you can do. There are several Jewish pro-justice groups, such as Rabbis for Justice. I'm not anti-Israel, I'm a born-again Christian who believes God did give the land to the Israelites. But with conditions attached, which they broke so many times He had them lose it three times (to Assyria, Babylon and Rome). At this time they're behaving worse - politically and morally - than they were then. "Do not oppress the stranger in the land, for you were strangers in Egypt. I am the LORD your God." Repeated at least three times in the Torah. How do you think God feels about the hedonistic lifestyle of Tel Aviv and the Jerusalem Gay Pride marches? Secular Israeli Jews haven't got a leg to stand on, because their only justification to be there at all comes from the Torah. Not really anything else to say. that's true .. the maps are true.... but.... we dident take the land just one morning like this..... they attack us.... in the day of independence they start to overrun us with people...they start'ed the war of independence. in the international laws it's allowd to hold land that you take in a war... The maps are completely incorrect. Prior to the British mandate the majority of the land was owned by the Ottoman empire which leased it out to its nobles- who employed the Palestinians as migrant labour and tenant farmers- the Palestinians did NOT own the land. The Ottoman empire sold around 10% of the land to the early Zionists before rioting by the local populace stopped them from doing so. When the British took over the mandate included the entire are- including Transjordan. Around 80% of the land was owned by the mandate government ( in the area that was not Trans-Jordan) of which 9% was owned by Jews. Subsequently- around 60% of the mandate land was given to the Palestinians- the Trans-Jordan area that became Jordan and the reamining 40% was what was partitioned off. Today the same situation prevails- around 80% of the land is state owned and is only leased to people. So these maps are nothing more than propaganda tools lying about history in order to drum up hatred of Israel. I say that you should visit Israel, and than let us know what you think. This guy is an Arab sympathiser posing as a Jew and spouting nonsense. He knows how to cut and paste, but he has no understanding of the content. The Neturei Qarta group, which numbers under 20 Orthodox Jews, does indeed object to the State of Israel. The other 99.999999999 percent of Jews throughout the world support Israel as the Jewish homeland--the only Jewish state in the whole wide world. The Jewish community considers these supporters of Islamic terror as the lunatic fringe. The are 22 Arab states, and over 60 Muslim states. . |
