Should Israel keep the drama act of poor pityful me when in fact they are the super military power in M.East?

It's hard not to see similarities between Iran's situation today and Israel's in the 1960s.

On May 30, 1961, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York a fateful meeting was held between Israeli prime minister David Ben-Gurion and the new U.S. president, John F. Kennedy. At stake was the future of the Dimona project, the Israeli nuclear initiative, to which Kennedy was vehemently opposed. Ben-Gurion repeatedly promised, both publicly and privately, that the Dimona initiative was for peaceful purposes only, but Kennedy did not seem convinced.

Kennedy emphasized the importance of the Israeli promise that the atomic initiative was for peaceful purposes only, and the importance of this commitment being not only declared but seen as well. Ben-Gurion explained Israel's future energy problems, repeated his promise that the Dimona initiative was for peaceful purposes, but concluded his words in a somewhat vague manner: "They are asking us if it [Dimona] is for peaceful purposes. And in fact, at the moment the only purposes are peaceful, but we do not know what will happen in the future ... It does not depend on us ... Maybe Russia won't give bombs to Egypt, but maybe Egypt will be able to develop them on its own." There is no doubt that he wanted to leave himself and Israel a way out of his commitment.

I recalled that discussion in the wake of the words of Ali Larijani, the secretary general of Iran's Supreme National Security Council and the head of its nuclear negotiating team, who recently declared that Iran's nuclear program is presently for peaceful purposes only, but as far as the future is concerned, he said, nobody knows what is in store; and if Iran is threatened, everything is open.

Zionist ties...John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas, United States. Lee Harvey Oswald was charged with the crime, but was himself murdered two days later by Jack Ruby before Oswald could be put on trial. The Warren Commission concluded that Oswald had acted alone in killing the president. However, the House Select Committee on Assassinations concluded in 1979 that there may have been a conspiracy.
Others
See, all the Arab countries (including Iran) are trying to destroy Israel. And, given their previous actions and stated goals and their overwhelming size advantage, they could destroy tiny Israel if they had the willpower to do so. In contrast, Iran doesn't face this same threat from its neighbours and even if it did, it's not going anywhere. Iran is too enormous of a country to 'whipe out'.
Israel is indeed a country surrounded by others who do indeed wish to see its demise. Think for a minute if you lived in a neighborhood (and couldn't move) where everyone one of your neighbors openenly declared their hatred of you, tossed herbicide all over your lawn, threw poisoned meat over your fence for you dog to eat. Now, when you finally do react (as Israel recently did when it one of their soldiers was kidnapped) and was subsequently condemned for using their military power, what options are left.
I do not agree that Israel should be where it is today BUT it is and I have no say in it. Israel is a nation that will not attack it's bordering nations unless provoked. That has again and again been proved. Israel's arsenal are used as a a deterrent because it is surrounded by enemies on all sides because Palestinians will not accept their sovernty as a nation. If the Arabs would be so kind as to drop hostilities towards the west and in particular, Israel, I am sure Israel will have no problem in a reduction faze out of it's nuclear arsenal.
Its true balanced view that Robert Kennedy was killed by a Palestinian Christian and John F. Kennedy was killed by Jack Ruby and company who was a Jew.
Of COURSE Israel's going to continue with its act---it nets them $4 to 5 billion a year, courtesy of U.S. taxpayers!
I have no problem with Iran possessing nuclear capability. I'm a lot more afraid of nukes in the hands of the likes of Bush (I'm American.)
One would have to be a complete moron (as are some who've answered this question) to believe that for one SECOND that Israel's Big Bad Brother, the U.S., is going to let anything happen to their little darling. And to the sh*t-for-brains that mentioned Israel's retaliation for the kidnapping of one of their soldiers----just HOW are hundreds of Lebanese civilian lives worth less than that of ONE Israeli soldier?
sanasaadeh and gypsy cat, you are both very wise, and very knowledgeable. You have thoughts of morals and ethics, many are lacking these thoughts today, and I am with you for peace and fairness.
