A question for Israeli Ladies: How can hair be unkosher?

Travel Info
It may only be about hair, but a rabbi's ruling that wigs imported from India are "unkosher" has caused a ruckus in some of Israel's religious communities.

Do I get that right? Just because these wigs are made of hair which were used in an "idol worship"? (what ever that might be ????) What is behind all this?

If a woman is covering her hair for religious or culturel reasons, is it not a fake to wear a wig anyway? Some women might look better and get more attention wearing a wig then with their natural hair. What's the purpose for covering up that way?

Right now it makes no sense to me, but maybe someone please can give me a satisfying explanation.

Thanks in advance.

It goes like this. In general, in the Orthodox community women cover their hair in public. Since many women like the appearance of hair, they purchase wigs. Since India makes wigs from actual human hair (and not fake hair which looks fake) they were very popular. Now there is a general principal in Judaism that anything used for "Idol worship" (more acurately, religious activity that is unacceptable to Judaism even for non-jews, like polytheism) cannot be used by Jews. This hair was used in just such a ceremony, so it couldn't be used.
As for wigs being 'fake', the point is that women's hair itself should be covered, even if it's covered by someone else's hair. Even if it looks completely real (it usually doesn't), most people would say it's ok. There are those who say it isn't though. I guess covering your hair is more a sign of being married then an attempt to disguise your beauty.

Our Rabbis wanted us focusing on who we are on the inside. They therefore made a law: Jewish women had to keep all their hair covered. Women got around that law easily enough: they concentrated on having really gorgeous hair- coverings. Rabbis tried to fight this, but they lost. Women weren't willing to accept the assumption that they shouldn't care about how they looked in public.

I personally don't cover my head hardly ever, because I am not religious and because I love my hair the way it looks. So the Kosher or non kosher really applies only to those who are religious. It doesn't make sense to me either.
There are some very religious Jewish people who interpret various religious edicts and texts to the literal word. In Judaism, just as in Islam, all idol worship (or anything that could be viewed as such) is forbidden. For example, we are not supposed to place our knees on the ground as this could somehow be related to idol worship (not sure of the exact reason...). This is just another case of literalist religious intepretation (i.e., hair being used in any form of idol worship is unkosher).
Itay has natural sources he sells to the natives to ease their suffering and so that he can elminiate them at the same time. They are in his way of conquering the world. Kind of like Hitler.
