Travel Info Someone posted a question, suggesting Israel is ordering the USA to go to war in Iran??? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?... Your thoughts on this??? Travel Tips Some people are wrong, and it is our job to make them not wrong. And vice-versa. We need to disagree eternally to find the perfect middle ground. So gently explain why he's wrong, without sugesting his mother dropped him when he was little, and thats that. Others I won't be surprised! since Israel has a great influence on US Gov.! As I wrote to that poster: "You do realize that the US, by virtue of being much more powerful and wealthy, pulls most of the strings in its relationship with Israel? You're greatly overstating Israel's influence on US policy. Iran is a threat to the world, and through its proxy, Hizballah, has a worldwide reach. Maybe Iran can't nuke the US, but in time it could attack US interests in the Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and the Far East, and vis-a-vis Hezballah, could attack the USA itself." The USA policy in the Middle East is influenced by 3 lobbies, The Israeli lobby, the Oil lobby and the Arab kingdoms lobby. The 3 groups are for the Iraq and the Iran war. http://www.nowarforisrael.com/ I think it's both funny and sad that so many people fear so few. I doubt that the Israelis have the means to "order" America to do anything. But they certainly appear to have a disproportionate amount of influence on American politics. |
