Other Travel Tips Israel sucks. i aint goin there for vacation. "the peaceful arab world".....that's a new one! Adamska what religion are you anyway? You must be half nazi and half arab. Hi.....OK, no offense meant, the idea of "peaceful Arab neighbors" just does not pan out in fact and in history, sorry to say. Of course, I'm sure many Arab people are peace loving but as far as the political leaders and many of the organizations such as the "PLO".....that is just not true. I can understand that the Arab peoples feel they are religously and otherwise justified in many of their attacks....and apparantly they are trained up that way from childhood, as well. Unfortunately this is a complex situation, in which there are no clear good guys or bad guys, but in which rather a careful research should be done. In my opinion, this is a complex issue and cannot be answered that simply. The reason Israel was created as a nation, from what I heard, is because the Jewish people were so badly treated, especially in World War II by the Nazis, that they felt they needed their own state. Also I heard that when Isreal was made a state, the Arab peoples already living there were not forced out...rather, many fled in terror because of the stories that were perpetuated by the Arab nations. Unfortunately some Arab countries were (and may still be.....I don't know) teaching their children to hate the Israelis. The Arab nations would not accept the new state even though they have plenty of countries. After the fear installed, the Arab nations would not take in the fleeing Arab peoples. Also, I heard Jordan was originally created to be a "palestenian state or country". Now, I'm not saying everything Israel did or does is right.......no, but Israel has been constantly terrorized and invaded by neighboring Arab countries. I would have to say that the Arab countries are causing a great deal of the problem, not all of it, of course, and in the news today you will hear that Lebanon is being also used by terrorist organizations. It isn't the peace loving people of either Israel or any Arab country that cause the problems......it is terrorists.....and I would have to say, unfortunately, from what I know, the problem has been largely created by those Arabs who are terrorists. The terrorist oriented organizations who are Arabs have repeatedly said that they will never accept even the existence of Israel, and also that they will push Israel into the sea. You should also know that in the Old Testament, God gave the land to the Jewish people, and, that anti semitism is basically demonic (of the devil) in nature. There has been anti semitism throughout history, and the desire of Jews to have their own country was largely born out of necessity and as a result of so much persecution and anti semitism. If the Jews had been better treated in various countries, things would be different. I do admit that the state of Israel itself probably does make mistakes and there could be some Israelis who have a terrorist mentality by now, but I would think it's largely in reaction rather than instigating. I am not in any way condoining any wrong doings against the Lebanese or other people, however, I think you need to research it historically and I think you will find that many of the Arab nations tend to fight each other or amongst themselves in one country.......I don't think the situation in Lebanon is totally the Israeli's fault......although I myself was very concerned about the Lebanese people, and I do pray for everyone concerned. War, terrorism and persecution are not God's will for any people, unfortunately, they are the result of sin, and Satan, who is the ultimate terrorist, if you will. Satan tries to kill, steal and destroy...... the only things he does......and he works through human agents since he has no other access here on earth. God sent His own Son, Jesus, for all of us, Jew, Arab or whatever.......and Jesus is our only true and lasting peace. There will be no lasting peace apart from Jesus. I think labeling Israel a terrorist state or nation is over simplified. However, all countries, including the USA of course, commit wrongful actions and it is always of course justified that those who do so are the right guys. Any thing can be justified by humans who tend to defend themselves, and that is certainly true of Israel, too. I don't mean to sound biased here, and what I know is limited, but I have also found the press in the US to be basically pro "Palestenian" without really giving all the facts or historical background. I have heard also that some Arab groups even shield themselves by deliberately planting children and women, then they try to blame Israel...... Study the history and aims of the "PLO" and you will find that they were avowed enemies of the Israeli state......and although they may of course have some legitamite gripes, it does not justify the terrorism. I have my own concerns and questions about how the state of Israel was taken over.....especially concerning those Arabs who were living there already...... and I can understand that this could be considered unacceptable, or an invasion, on the other hand, you have to look at the whole history and situation. Some news magazines online have archives and you can research this question further online. Israel as a state, or Zionism as a movement, is not the same thing as Judaism or the Jews as a people, so you have to also separate that and look into it. The Middle East of course is a volatile and complicated situation, but Christians know from the Bible that Jesus Himself will come back in Israel, and that until He comes back, there will probably unfortunately be no lasting peace.....and it's not a simple situation. I would say hurts and wrongdoings have gone back and forth and either side could feel religously and otherwise justified. Islam is a false religion and it tends by nature to be violent, despite what people want to say......they believe in taking territory and making everyone either convert forceably or killing them......and you can research this, also. Of course Catholicism did similarly in the Crusades. Unfortunately human nature is messed up and that is why we ALL need Jesus as a Saviour, what we consider "good" is not God's idea of pure and good, and our made up religions only reflect this basic problem we've had as humans since the Original Fall of Adam (and Eve). Jesus came that we might have life abundantly, but the thief (devil, the one who tempted Eve originally)....comes ONLY to steal, kill and destroy....... So terrorism is basically a tool of the devil......although peoples' hurts and retaliations will also play into it. God loves all of us equally. I did hear that some of the early Zionists (Israelis) did commit some terrorism I think against the British but it was not on a large scale. Of course, secret services in all countries probably commit or encourage acts of violence so as I said, humans can justify just about anything. PS. I'm not sure whether the attack on the UN force (a terrible thing) was deliberate on the part of the Israeli armed forces, or a mistake. Even the USA armed forces commit mistakes in Iraq and have at times, hit their own (friendly fire). I am not trying to justify the event since I don't remember exactly why it occurred.... but I do know that not all of the problems are caused only by Israel, and I would not call Israel a terrorist state more than its Arab neighbors. okay, israel is actually not a terrorist state. they're a little country with terrorists inside and on every side. there are peaceful palestinians, peaceful arabs, and peaceful lebanese. and believe me, nobody wants peace more than the jews, who have spent almost every day since they became a nation, fighting! unfortunately however, there are people of different nationalities in israel, who take terrorist actions like blowing up buses, launching rockets at schools, and setting off bombs in pizza joints. and those are the true terrorists |
