Is it safe to go on a guided tour of the holy land? |
Travel Info Is it safe to go on a guided tour of the holy land? Travel Tips Its completely safe. I've been travelling through Israel for 3 months, I've done guided tours and rented cars myself. Its completely safe, and a great country to visit. Don't let foreign news scare you, alot of the times they don't have anything to report so they throw in something about Israel. I have never felt one bit scared or intimidated, don't worry about it. Others Overall, the answer to your question is yes. However, it also depends on which areas you want to see. If by "Holy Land" you mean Jerusalem, the Galilee, Nazareth, and even Bethlehem (which is on the West Bank) then yes, I think you should be fine. But I would not recommend going to places like Hebron and Nablus right now because they aren't so "safe." The security wall has helped by nearly eradicating suicide bombers inside of Israel, but contrary to one of the other answers, it has not worked 100% of the time. In fact, a few months ago a suicide bomber came in from Gaza and detonated in Eilat. Nevertheless, it is very rare these days and you should certainly come if you are able. It is a great place to visit, especially if you are coming for religious reasons. If you do come, try to relax and enjoy yourself. Don't be overwhelmed by security concerns and thoughts of suicide bombers, because this can ruin your time here and you might miss a lot of great things! Good luck and enjoy your trip! Absolutely. Yes, Baruch Hashem Bitachon yes it is safe. It is just like any place else. |
