Can you have dual citizenship if you're a citizen or israel? |
Travel Info I know that as a Jew i can apply for citizenship in israel without almost anyother proof, so lets say taht i do just that while on a vacation there. So would I have to go through any other extraneous measures to maintain dual citizenship in the US and Israel, or is it just an automatic thing? Travel Tips well both Israel and the United States recognize dual citizenship so you can be a citizen of both at the same time. Though the possess of attaining Israeli citizenship is easy if your Jewish it is not that easy. First off its not automatic, you have to apply for it and go though some bureaucratic paperwork to prove your Jewish heritage. You also typically need proof residence in Israel so at the very least you would need to rent an apartment for some time. Going on vacation I do not think is enough. For instance, of you were born and bred in Isreal - your passport will always allow you to return there, no matter what. Even if you have gained us citizenship, you will be able to travel there. yes they allow you to have dual citizenship.you dont automatically qualify for it, even if u r jewish, you have to make aliya. once you get the israeli passport you have to enter and leave israel with it, they are very strict with this. If the country where you are from allows Dual nationality then you can retain your original citizenship, however, you can't apply for Israeli citizenship on holiday/vacation there. You'd have to be living there for some time at least. Israel allows for and recognizes multiple citizenships. However, citizenship is a responsibility and should not be entered into lightly. It obligates both yourself and you're children to serve in the IDF, among other things. But assuming you applied for and received Israeli citizenship, you would not have to do anything else, and you would then be an individual of dual citizenship. are u kidding??? half the people here (including me) have dual citizenships!!!! some people have even more!!! its not a problem at all!!! |
