If it was not for him sneaking of to Sweden and writing that Oslo "Peace" Accords we would not have been in this mess we are in right now. Plus, I think that he is self-hating Jew. I base this on the argument that he made about King David, rabbis, and all other religious Jews. I think that he is fake. As long as he doesn't use his post as a podium to broadcast his opinions, I'll be happy. It's a largely ceremonial post as it is. The role of the President of Israel is so politically weak it really doesn't matter. However, I think Peres has tried to make Israel a better place - whether I agree with him or not and I think at the end of this long political career it is a nice way the Israeli public have elected him as he lives the last years of his life.
