Travel Info If you raise a non-Jewish child as a Jew, will that person be Jewish? Isn't Jewishness just another culture or religion that one can learn? Travel Tips I'm Jewish and it really doesn't matter to me, if someone wants to be Jewish, that is fine with me. Others No, he will be just a stingy.. If your mother isn't Jewish the child is not Jewish (under Orthodox and Conservative law, anyway) and no matter how much the child knows about or practices Judaism, he or she will not be Jewish. However if the child is that knowledgeable, a simple conversion process would do it. I'm Jewish. That child will only be a Jew if he undergoes conversion (as in the case of adopted children). Halakhically speaking, the child won't be a Jew. In response to 'Freedom''s answer: If the best you can come up with is a racist comment, then that says a lot about you. |
