Travel Info If Jews share common ancestry, why don't they all look the same? Travel Tips I'm Jewish and I don't really look like I am, I don't know why, maybe I'm just lucky. I love my life and wouldn't trade my looks for anything. I guess everyone else just wasn't born lucky like me. Others Technically all humans share a common ancestry. Evolution. Judaism is a religion first and foremost, not a race. There are many converts and many Jews who have been brought up in different areas of the world. In some countries, Jews developed or were forced to develop closed socities in response to anti-semitism. Jews whose ancestry goes back to these closed jewish socities may share some similar physical characteristics to others from the same society. Otherwise Jews look pretty much like everyone else in the country they live in. Migration. Members of a Jewish community, in say, Norway, will develop phenotypic characteristics (over many generations) to help them adapt to their environment, just as members of a Jewish community, in say, Iran would develop distinct phenotypic characteristics to help them adapt to their own, distinct, environment. Climate affects looks (especailly hair and skin colour) more than Genetics. Many ashkenazi jews lived for years in Eastern Europe The Diaspora of Jews meant being dispersed throughout the world, their marriages to different races have resulted to how they look today. I wonder what someone would look like if they were half Lebanese and half Jewish. Let's see, if the mother isn't Jewish, then child wouldn't be Jewish......but they all answer your questions the same don't they, George? Even your own people treat you like crap. It's too bad you can not be accepted by them. You're too good. |
