its the best place, love it, we go there often, in fact i am going there on monday ...counting the sleeps...its very westernized.
there are lots of great places to see and many things to do.
contrary to what you read its very safe, as they have great security.also people are very friendly.
the traditional israeli "cousine" is mainly middle eastern, lots of falafel, humus, techina, schwarma.but the israelis have incoporated lots of different foods to there daily diets.you will find in israel many great restaurants and coffee places.

My mom, dad, and brother did many years ago. They loved it, and I know others who have been. I hear it is actually very safe because of so many tourist going there.

There is no Israeli cuisine per se and most of the local cuisine is Palestinian food the rest is international food.
It's very nice, you should certainly come and visit.
The cuisine is very varied in Israel, as Israel is an amalgamation of Jews from many different cultures. It's very interesting how the cuisine has integrated, how spicing and seasonings have crossed cultures and merged. If you come, I would suggest sampling quite a few places to get the full range. As for delicacies, I don't think there are any uniquely Israeli. Most are either Mediterranean or Western.
