Have we made conflict in Israel seem more important than it really is? |
Travel Info I have been trying to work with people on here to get a support for peace, and I get abused quite a bit, and accused of awful things as well. It wanting peace in the Middle East not that big of a deal? Others George, most people here in Israel want peace. We just don't want a peace that involves state-suicide or something worse. Is that so unreasonable? Dear George, constructive criticism is one thing, but when you only accuse Israel while pretending to be Jewish you deserve some abuse. I want peace in the Middle east, but I am being realistic, and know that it won't happen while one of the sides infects its children with hatred for another side from the early childhood. Twisting historical and today's facts and playing the role of a victim became a full-time job for Gaza Arabs. Peace may only come in exchange for peace. Peace in exchange for land will only make things worse. George, you would not be criticized if you admitted that you are not Jewish. Nobody likes a fraud. Whether or not they agree with your strange opinions. Everyone here thinks that you are an Arab apologist pretending to be Jewish. One reason the conflict in Israel is so important because the threat to Israel from radical Islam is just the forerunner to the threat to the entire Western World. Israel is the only party there that is interested in peace. Once the Muslims have dealt with the Saturday people, they intend to deal with the Sunday people. This threat must be eliminated, by diplomacy or otherwise. . There will be no peace, until the Israelis stop behaving like the Nazis and stop blowing up children, engage in collective punishment, and most importantly of all, obey United Nations resolutions to give back conquered territories, which they have steadfastly refused to do. Whilst of course expecting everybody else to obey United Nations resolutions ....god damn hypocrites. Israelis always complain about Palestinian aggression, what the hell do they expect when you take away people's lives and treat them like ****. By treating them like that they have played into the hands of the extremists, because those people don't see any hope, the Israelis have taken that away. When people have no hope, they do crazy things. If the Israelis had behaved decently and improved the lives of Palestinians I am sure we would not be in the position we are today. To put it in a simplified way ....imagine you lived in a house and some guy turned up on your doorstep saying "God says this is my house and my land now, so piss off".... I think one might just be slightly pissed off about that, don't you? in response to tp, i think you are wrong. While the Israelis may not have handled the situation perfectly, they were not behaiving like nazis. The terrorists are trying to kill israelis, and israel is acting in self defense. How would you feel if you were afraid to go to the movies because a suicide bomber mmight be there? Issrael is the only liberal democracy in the middle east. It gives rights to its citizens and has let Palestinians govern themselves in Gaza and the west bank. We are all entitled to an opinion, but yours is way too harsh. Once again you are drawing the wrong conclusion. Here's the best I understand your thought process: 1) You say something favoring peace (in your definition), 2) People diagree and call you names, 3) Conclusion: people don't want peace. In actuality, the process is more like this: 1) You say something strongly against Israel, 2) People take offense and disagree with you and call you names, 3) Conclusion: people don't want your specific brand of "peace". |
