Things to do in Tel Aviv?

Travel Info
I will be in Tel Aviv next weekend for a couple of days. It is my first visit to the city and I am looking for suggestions on things to do, places to shop and good nightlife. Thanks!

Travel Tips
The first time is always so much fun! Tel Aviv is such a wonderful city! Here are a few things:

1. For an evening meal and a historic pleasure of the ancient Israelis, go to the port of Tel Aviv Jaffa at about four in the afternoon. Tour the park a little (watch out for the bats!), go through aged alleyways, and then eat a romantic dinner of fish in a restaurant on the water. Make sure to go there when there are lots of people, it's much more amusing to people watch.

2. Go to the Eretz Israel Museum, where you'd discover a lot about Israel and her history. It's a beautiful place, quiet and cool, and you'll leave knowing at least ten new things about the country.

3. Go to Rabin square, where one of our best prime ministers (Yitzchak Rabin) was assassinated for his peaceful methods. There is a melancholy memorial at his place of assassination, and for a nifty piece of information: the square was used to be called King of Israel Square, but was change after he died.

4. Neve Tzedek is a charming neighborhood close to Jaffa on the Southern part of Tel Aviv, a block from the Daniel Intercontinental Hotel. The narrow cobbled stonned streets are similar to those found in small European towns. I've been there once, but don't remember a thing! Everyone else says it's the most beautiful neighborhood in Israel, so it must be good.

5. There are three huge buildings in the downtown area-one is a triangle, one a circle, and one a square. The tallest one has an observatory on the 49th floor, where one can view the entire city from above. Plus the mall is in the same building, so go Israeli shopping!

6. Last but not least, the Midrachov. It's the beach, beautiful in summer and stunning in winter, where you could go swimming but also just saunterand have the same good time. The restaurants are amazing, and the buildings are just sugar to the eye. On the boardwalk there's Independence Hall, where Israel was declared independent by Ben Gurion.

Another cool place is the saffari (forgot to add), fun with children, but also very nice. Full of animals and feels like an African saffari, but it's actually in the middle of Tel Aviv.
Others
your going to love it there. If you go to Dizengof* Main street. There are bars, clubs, beach parties all over there.
Enjoy Israel
for shopping definitely go to Shenkin, its a street filled with great stores, and if you get hungry while you're shopping 'agvania' (tomato) has wonderful pizza. you might want to spend some time on the beach too. there are some nice restaurants facing the ocean where you can watch a beautiful sunset, including a place called 'manta ray' where they have excellent seafood. have a great time!
