Travel Info Does everyone in Israel speak English?? Travel Tips Of course not everyone, but much of the population does indeed speak English. I live in Israel, but I speak very little Hebrew, and I have no problems with communication. Additionally, all the road signs and such are in three languages: Hebrew, Arabic, and English, and many of the restaurants have English menus. In other words, if you are in Israel and you speak, read, and write in English you will be fine. There is very little reason to learn Hebrew unless you just really want to! I hope I helped! Almost everyone learns Arabic in school (since all the neighboring countries use Arabic). English is the next most common, but you cannot count on it everywhere. If you're headed there, get a copy of "Hebrew in 10 Minutes a Day" and learn a few useful phrases. They'll really appreciate the effort, and the good will you engender will be worth a private guide in some places. Get at least please / thanks you're welcome where is the bathroom? English, please?
