well I am not a Rabbi (or jewish) but I also believe in God. Are you asking that if it matters what the human being is (female, male, child) for murder? God doesn't like murder: death (or life) is something that is in the hands of God and not in the hands of a person. You don't decide which person deserves to live or to die, and you don't decide when you die. Murdering a human being is impossible - it doesn't matter if it is a child, female, male - in the end it is murder: you decided that you had the power to make the death of a fellow human being possible. But about the motives (revenge; pay-back; fun; sick; etc.) behind the murder, I don't know the answer.
I am not a rabbi/priest, but I hope I can add to the discussion.

Murder is not acceptible in any religion, regardless of gender. There is no such things as a lesser degree of murder.

In Jewish law murder is murder, irrespective of the victim.
A Rabbi would as anyone would as see that it does not matter if the the person murdered is a man, woman, or child because the punishment is the same - death. The only area where their is some confusion on this matter is if the human life that dies is a fetus in the womb of a woman. Then it would depend on the Rabbi (whether Orthodox, Conservative, and Reformed) as to how you interpret this. However, all agree that a fetus (although you can find some exceptions out there among the Rabbis) is not equal in importance as viable human life, but that is true in all societies since ancient times.

If someone tells you that he is going to kill you, you should try to talk them out of it. If they are determined enough in killing you and refuse to give up, you should kill them first.

If someone is attacking you with a murdering weapon, you cannot even debate with yourself, you must kill them first.
