Thinking of going to Jamaica is it safe? |
Travel Info How unsafe is it in jamaica if we stay in an all inclusive resort. Would like to see some of the scenery. And activities out of the resort as well. Any recommendations? Travel Tips Jamaica is safer than the U.S. At least in Jamaica people not kidnapping anybody or walking into classrooms shooting up people (Dont mean to be harsh but thats reality!) Of course there are gunmen here but there are gunmen in the U.S too. We dont have to worry about serial killers or snipers out in Jamaica. We have our bad areas like Trench town or Rae Town but is just like how America has Bed-Sty. Dont ever think just because you are a first world country that u must come and black ball us Jamaicans. If you stay in a resort it will be nice but you will miss out on the real Jamaica. Others when you go to Jamaica and you leave your resort you must bring a bodyguard with you, sometimes the hotel will have them and you are charged for the service but going out without one is a death sentence!!! Stay in your resort, buddy. You'll be okay in there. I live in Jamaica part time (my Jamaican wife can't get a UK Visa) and even I can't go out alone. The Jamaicans are wonderfully kind friendly people but there are too many "bad boys" around with guns who assume that every foreigner must have something on them worth taking or worth killing for. My wife lives in Trench Town and I need an escort leaving and returning to the area total rubbish. going in jamaica is a breeze. tyhere is no violence or not as much. and come on, u dont need any body guard. the people love tourits and trat them like kings and queen. you also chose the best hotel, an all inclusive- you get every thing you want.so, dont worry about and body guard andviolence and gunmen etc. it is the same condition in america, do u need a body guard in america, NO. the only thing different is that jamaica is beautiful VERY. jamaica is a very safe country or island. peolpe are always loking out for u especially the hotel personnels. they would go the extra mile to satisfy your disire. trust me it is going to be o.k. so go there it is the best place you could have chosen. how would i know- my family lives there and i have stayed there for years. What!!! Jamaica is great...and much safer then the US I agree. Jamaica is safer than the US. The Jamaica people are friendly. You have to take as much precaution as u would if u visit any other place. Crime rates in Jamaica are known to be high, particularly in and around the city of Kingston. There are some areas of the island that tourists should avoid at night and other areas that should be avoided all the time (just like in the US), but as long as you educate yourself and pay attention, they aren't hard to stay out of. While violent crime is on the rise in inner city areas, most of the crime against tourists that occurs on the island is petty theft and pickpocketing. The most important thing to remember is to keep a close watch on your possessions at all times. Always keep cars locked; make use of your in-room safe; and don't leave any valuables in plain sight鈥攅ven in a locked car. In the end, visiting the island of Jamaica is no different than visiting New York, Chicago, Miami or any large city because common sense should always guide you away from uncomfortable situations. |
