Travel Info Does anyone recommend a night out in negril. or should a person stay at the resort? Travel Tips Negril is like my second home, as I love it so much. Going out in the day alone is ok, if you stay on main beach and street. It is safer than most US cities by far in my opinion. As for resorts, you will not see the real Jamaica. I recommend staying at one of the small beach hotels; also the Negril Yoga Center is a cozy place I recommend, especially if you like peace, yoga and vege 'home style' Jamaican food. It is best to hook up with a guide. Use your intuition on this, and don't be afraid to say 'no thanx Mon'. By the way, gays are frowned upon by the culture, so anyone gay should chill and keep it all on the down low, but have a good time. Others Spent many a winter in Jamaica. Love it. Wandering off a resort by yourself CAN be dangerous. Having said that, Negril is a lot of fun, but I would suggest going during the day first, familiarize yourself with the area, hopefully hook up with some other people, and then go out as a group at night. if there's an event u like 2 attend why not go there Go out with your friends and have fun. I firmly believe you should spend a lot of time ....OFF.... the resort as much as possble anjoy the 'reAL jAMAICA... Go off the resort.. It can be a lot of fun.. The clubs alternate there nights so there is always something going on.. If you like listening to a reggae band under the stars check out Alfred's, Bourbon Beach, Risky Business or Roots. If you want to dance then check out the Jungle or if you are brave check out XXX.. Go to www.negrilinfo.com to check out which clubs are hopping on each night. There are also many local bars you could just chill at during the day or night. Good Luck! |
