Going to Jamaica in a couple of weeks? |
Travel Info Hi there im going to Jamaica in a couple of weeks and will be going to Montego Bay and Ocho Rios will also be staying at the doctors cave beach hotel and will be staying in the resort. I just have one question to ask and that is i have heard that Jamaica is a country where people get harrassed alot buy people coming up and trying to sell drugs and other stuff and i would like to know does this sort of thing only happen outside the resort or does it also happen in the resort aswell. Im not worried about this especially since i have expereinced harrassment by locals in Mexico and Egypt but it's just something i would like to know so i know what to expect. I don't mind people coming up to me and trying to sell me souveniers but i wouldn't like drug dealers coming up to me and try to sell me drugs and i can't imagine such a thing happening in a resort because the resorts in Jamiaca have heavy security. Anyways any info would be much appreciated. Thanks Travel Tips If you stay in the resort you won't have a problem. However they are doing much more than just trying to sell you drugs in the local streets, often you are robbed or beaten. Jamaica has become a very dangerous place to visit. Be very careful and stay on the beaten path, so you don't get beaten. Do not go out at night and do not drive in the countryside. Otherwise have a good time. Others don't mess with no girls you might be a nerd Depends on where u go. I was born in Jamaica It depends on where in Jamaica you go but you will be on the North coast of the island that is tourist area. They won't bother you in Negril to buy drugs, if anything they will try to sell you Jamaican souveniers. Jamaican born & bred Anywhere you go there are certain less than desirable areas. In Jamaica we have places like Rae Town and in America there are places such as Bed-Stuy. It all depends on where you go. If you stay in the resort all the time trust me you going to miss out on the real Jamaica.Go to Dunn's River Falls or Bowood Beach in Trelawny. Go to Margueritaville and enjoy yourself. The people are friendly and wont run up to you like idiots selling drugs. We have sense. If you dont harass or insult us we wont insult you. Lataz. |
