Are souvenirs expensive in Jamaica? |
Travel Info Are souvenirs expensive in Jamaica? Travel Tips Depending on were you have your shopping experience the price can be determined, and if your a persistent bargainer,in getting value for money, one way tourist get what they want is by comparing prices in front of the vendor by doing this some persons will depreciate, the price so that the item can, sell, indeed its very common to see, especially in straw market Montego bay on Harbour street, and Howard Cook high. However point is you have to be persistent,it may not always work by you getting what you want or need, but in general things are quoted in US dollars and by standard alot of the stuff you purchase are actually cheaper from persons selling it in the market place than the Airports or any other more develope shopping area of the country, why because you are able to bargain your way. Source(s): Experience. Other Travel Tips Depends. If you are good at bargaining then no. not at all they are really cheap and theres no tax. i think. or it might be costa rica. but anyways they are cheap and might be tax free cuz i think its a free port. lol Not by American Standards, but remember that you don't have to pay the asking price. Most Americans offer half and then barter from there. If you get the chance you can buy the same souvenirs at a flea market for even less than the normal shops. Have fun. I thought prices were very high and the quality of souvenirs was low. Vendors were also extremely aggressive. When my wife and I were there we felt like fish bait thrown into a shark tank. It was not a pleasant experience. NO |
