If you like active excursions check out Chukka Cove which is nearby. They have ATV tours, cycle tours, horseback riding, a jungle canopy tour (I did this one last July) and more. My wife and I also did some shopping near Ocho Rios and HATED it. Vendors are pushy, items are expensive and not of high quality. There is a coffee plantation nearby (Jamaica makes the world's best coffee). You can also go to Bob Marley's former home and even meet his mother. Check out TripAdvisor.com and look for the area's attractions there. Type in Ocho Rios in the search area and you can learn lots about what attractions and activities are nearby. Many visitors climb the waterfalls from the beach right to the top, stopping on the way to enjoy the cool plunge pools formed naturally in the river rocks and the waterfalls which are gentle in some places and positively thunder in others. When you get to the top, you will feel refreshed and invigorated. Photographed millions of times, Dunn's River was prominently featured in the very first James Bond film, "Dr. No." Countless other film crews have followed the lead.
