Wedding in Jamaica? |
Travel Info I am getting married at Rose Hall Country Club & Resort in Montego Bay.. Has anyone been to the hotel, or had a wedding at the resort? What was it like? Any ideas on how to entertain guest after the ceremony... Thanks i've already used TripAdvisor... before anyone suggest that site.. Cheers Travel Tips My husband and I got married in Jamaica - a while ago now! - in Ocho Rios. It was perfect. I would recommend that you get as late a time in the day as possible for your ceremony - that's what we did, and spent the morning lounging by the pool, drinking champagne. None of this rushing around like blue-a**ed flies for us! It's also cooler towards the latter half of the afternoon, which my husband did appreciate, as he was in full Highland dress. If you've got lots of people coming to your wedding, have you thought about having the reception in the form of a barbie on the beach, with maybe a calyspo band? It's corny, yes, but if it's done in a good spirit, then it could be a gas. And presumably you're getting married in Jamaica because you don't want anything too formal? Well, that's a pretty informal reception... If only a few people are coming, then I'd suggest a nice meal, either at the resort, or outwith, and a more mellow, chilled evening. You should do whatever you want to do, at the end of the day - it is *your* day, and people are coming to see you get married. Their entertainment shouldn't feature more highly on the list than that!! Best of luck with your wedding, and I hope you are very happy. Others I don't know of any good websites, but congratulations on your wedding. congrats on the wedding. wish you all the best! ps im not a fully qualified reverand so i wont be taking your vows ;) Rose Hall in Montego Bay there is like this haunted house where when slavery was there the lady kill 5 of her husband in the bed that she sleep in and after 6pm (they say you will her screaming of her husband ) but thats not true but it is a haunted house and i went there before i was scared and i was born there but otherwise than that the trip there was exciting and fun to me. Great go for it girl!!! MoBay is sweeet. You'll enjoy being in the greatest Holiday resort in the world. And i'm not just saying it because i'm Jamaican. I went a few years back and wet on a trip to the luminous lagoon, make sure you visit it if its still going, its water that glows in the dark when its moved its great I got married there last year. Awesome resort, beautiful gardens, lots of stuff to do. Ask your wedding co-ordinator about stuff to do - they're pretty helpful. no problem mon is their answer to everything!! |
