Japan and china? |
Travel Info im doing an assignment on japanese and chineses ppl how they live could someone please hellp me out i have to know how they live their life their school sport liesure and everythink please reply asap!!!! Travel Tips Well, first off that's an odd assignment because Japan and China are two VERY separate cultures. Did your teacher not realize that? Start with that and include that they aren't on the best of terms either. It's frusterating that Americans just don't seem to realize that Japan and China are two distinct countries. I don't get why that's hard. It's like saying do a report on the USA and Finnland...unless you were comparing and contrasting that wouldn't work because they are SEPARATE! haha, sorry, anyways...I live in Japan so I can try and elaborate on some key points of Japanese culture and life... Leisure: Golf is huge amongst the older businessmen generation. Unfortunitaly, space is limited in most cities and so golf is very pricy, most opt for golf ranges instead. Karaoke is a HUGE passtime for the young and old alike. Instead of singing in front of a group of strangers, people pay about 2,500 yen (roughly 23 dollars) for a private karaoke room for about two hours. Here they can choice from either Japanese chart toppers or American and sometimes even Korean. People can order food and drinks in these rooms and water is provided. Sticky Pictures sometimes reffered to as pikura in Japanese is probably the number one passtime of teens and kids. There basically your average picture boothe machine but instead of printing three or four plain pictures it prints about 4 to 10 depending on size. They are meant to be embellished. Here you can pick from dozens of odd backgrounds (colors to city scapes to giant dinosaurs...etc) and add cartoon characters, bubbles, hearts, sparkles, just about anything you can imagine to the pic. You can also pick the camera angle and music that it plays while you play. Arcades are another huge hobbie of the young. They have the basic arcade games one would expect plus stirctly Japanese games, "Dragon boat races" and "tiko drums" Food: Sushi is a delious common food here. Sushi is named not for the raw fish (that's actually called sa-shi-mi) but for the sticky rice it sits on. They have restuarnts called sushi-go-rounds, where sushi goes around a conveyor belt and the patrons pick the plates off of it. When they ask for the check "O-ai-so- o-ne-gai-shi-masu" the waiter will come by and ring up the total by the amount of plates they've accumulated. They also eat lots of stir-frys, tofu chanpuro being my personal favorite (stir fried veggies, spam, and tofu) Miso soup is served during most meals, it's a healthy soy bean soup. Green tea and San Pin Cha (three types of tea in one; green, black, jasmine) are the number one beverages. A neat little thing about Japan is that there is a vending machine on just about every corner that serves hot or cold coffee from a can and various soft drinks and teas. Culture: Japan is still very traditional (unless you visit the tourist districts; ruppongi and harajuku), it's very common to see hordes of Japanese business people in dark suits caring brief cases. It's very rare to see tattoos or even sunglasses because those things are generally associated with low society and the yakaza (mofia). People pay much resepct to their elders. Japan as a whole is a very respectful, reserved culture. I hope this helps. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. It's difficult trying to cover an entire culture in one comment box. :-/ Others they eat mostly Japanese and Chinese food. go to Japanese and Chinese schools, play Japanese and Chinese sports and speak Japanese and Chinese. wiki do your own homework pedia These should help: Japan: School: http://www.indiana.edu/~japan/digest9.ht...
