Travel Info Why are japanese school uniforms short considering it's a conservative country? Travel Tips they're not made short. the girls like to hike them up. it's more of a 'schoolgirl fashion' than anything. in japanese culture they do everthing as a whole(for the most part) and fashion is a MAJOR factor in japan. japanese like to look 'hip and cool' so to say... and with the schoolgirls, there's not much else they can do with a uniform than hike up the skirt.... Others all japanese people are perverts conserves on cloth. older generation = conservative newer generation = fashion conscious it is because of the teen rebellion. who wants to follow rules when we, the teens can do whatever we want? if you notice, they have sagging socks around their ankles and the reason their skirt is so low is that they keep pulling it up! school teachers try to stop it but hey! the teens at school are the main source for fashion. that is why they keep their skirts so damn low. they're not perverts. they follow rules of fashion from the others. a difference right? Many teens in Japan despise their school uniforms just as much as if american teens would if all public schools in the U.S. wore uniforms. They are just trying to make them more stylish. They wear them long at school but after they leave they roll them up to make their legs look longer. |
