Need information on the prices of cell phones and shoes in japan? |
Travel Info please help ! my parents will be heading to tokyo, so i want to buy a unlock nokia 73 or n93i (quad/tryband) is it genaraly same price as in the internet or realy expensive. secondly what is the rough price for basketball shoes(nike,addidas,AND1) and the best palces to shop both shoes and phones for a fair price. appreciate you help. Travel Tips You will find the phones will be the same price on the internet, that is if it was a Japanese site you went to. Otherwise phones are quite cheap in Japan. Expect to pay from 7000 to 20000 yen, I'm not sure of your currency but should be able to work it out from a converter on the net. Try this one http://finance.yahoo.com/currency?u... . As for the shoes, how big are your feet? Japan do shoe sizes in centimeters. Around 27.5cm is the largest I found unfortunately my feet are 30cm so I couldn't find any that fit me. If your feet are smaller than this then Dotombori in Osaka has some great shoe shops with top quality brands at very low prices. My gf got a pair of Converse all stars for 3500 yen which is more than 50% cheaper than here in Australia. This shop was on the corner of a cross road in the Dotombori mall, I'm pretty sure a big freeway was the cross street so it wouldn't be hard to find. Possibly America mura would be a good place to look for shoes also, this is just off Dotombori. Lonely Planet or any other guide book will have a map of the area. There are loads of phone shops in Dotombori also. Hope this helps. If you are going to Tokyo, I would suggest Akihabara for phones. For shoes you can try Shibuya which has loads of shops and centres or Harujuku which is more catered to the younger crowds. Good luck, hope this helps. Others just to tell you.. japan won't sell cellphones to you. they won't sell cellphones to any foreigners. I've tried. you have to bring like some kind of ID to represent that you are infact a japanese citizen and then you have to open up a two year cellphone contract plan with them. they refuse to sell to foreigners becuase they don't want their cell phones being sold for a really cheap price in some other country. So i think you should just wait foryou parents to go to hong kong or either china. they sell cellphones for an average price there. But if you can't wait. then buy it on e-bay. basketball shoes are not very cheap there. its like about the same price here in america. But they do have more colors and variations for you to chose from. So it really depends on what you really want. |
