Does it snow in Japan in July? |
Travel Info I wondered if it snowed in July, because I don't really know about the weather conditions in Japan. Where abouts it snows (if it does) around that time, would be appreciated. Travel Tips Never. Winter season in Japan is from December to February, as you may know. It generally stopped snowing in February or March. The record of the late date is June24th (2002), in eastern Hokkaido. In Tokyo, that date is April 17th in 1967 and 1969. Sapporo, the prefectural capital of Hokkaido, is April 19th. Correction. Mt.Fuji, the highest mountain. Avarage date of the last snowy day is July 11th. The average first day when it snows there is September 29th. Others No. It's snows about normal if not less than it does in America July is summer time. It rains......Certain parts are hot and muggy. No..it doesn' t ..Snow would be December until March..depends on the location. http://gojapan.about.com/cs/weather/a/cl... No, never in July. It is possible in late spring, however, if you are going to the north. Most tourists come through Tokyo, and you will not see a great accumulation of snow here very often, even in the winter. In my years of living in Yokohama, (outside of Tokyo), when it snowed, most people sprayed it off of the sidewalks with a hose! Other than the accumulation difference, the seasons are comparable to the mid-west of the US. (but you don't say where you are from, so that might not help) muggier/rainier in the summer months than the mid-west, but nothing compared to south-east Asia It doesn't snow in July, it boils. But in some places, Ash from active volcanos makes it seem like it is snowing. That is the way it is in Kagoshima. Japan is in the northern hemisphere so summer is summer, and winter is winter. For countries in the southern hemisphere, they may have snow in July. |
