What are some Anime places to visit in Tokyo? |
Travel Info I'll be on a school field trip to Japan next and my students will probably want to take time out to see visit/shop at an Anime place. Any suggestions on where we can go? Some of our favorite Anime are: FullMetal Alchemist, Bleach, and Neon Genesis Evangelion Travel Tips the best place to take them in Tokyo would be Akihabara, it is the centerpoint of anime, manga, technology, and geek culture. It is essentially a gigantic shopping district of anime/manga/computer/book/gadg... shops, and prices are often lower, there are also a ton of duty free shops there as well. Others If you and your students are really into anime and dojinshi, or self-published comics featuring anime characters, you shoud visit the Tokyo International Exhibition Center in Ariake, where Comiket, also known as "Comic Market", is held twice a year, in August and December. It's a must-see destination for all the anime lovers, and literally thousands of otakus from around the globe swarm the place to sell or buy their works of art. TIEC is also well-known for its cosplay conventions that are held regularly throughout the year. If you are lucky, you might see some of those otakus dressed in funky costumes. |
