What is a good in of the yr trip? |
Travel Info Ok im president of my school, and at my school we have this thing where they dont vote a new person till they graduate. And next yr i will be in 12th grade. The student counsel has to plan the end of the yr trips for each grade. We have to start planning this summer. My job is to plan the 12th grade trip to Tokyo, Japan. What can we do while we are there? Or anything we should make sure to see. PLZ help me, this is a huge job and the only help i have is my friend. Last y it was New York trip i planned, not as hard as Tokyo. Travel Tips I can help you answer this because I just went to Tokyo. Be expected that noone will speak English. They say they do in TV, but the don't. There a nice temples thru out Tokyo. Mount Fuji (you can get there by cable car), Disneyland, Ghibli Museum (Famous Japenese animator for "Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke-very cool), sumo wrestling, and kabuki are just some choices. You can just go on line and google Tokyo. Good luck and enjoy! Others Well for starters you should make sure participating students have a valid passport and if not they need to get one asap (takes about 4weeks to obtain one), try to get JR Railpasses BEFORE you go (because you cannot get them in Japan), see if you can research on group tours of the city, search on accomodation- cheapest stay are in hostels and if contact early im sure you can book up most of the rooms for your group (if not search on hotels) or stay at a ryokan. *There are many things to see and do, you should research on what festivals are going on in the area for the season you are going. *You can visit the temples *walk around Harajuku (since most people will probably be familiar with that) *go to Akihabara (electric district, people would probably want the newest video games) *the Sony building (to play video games that wont be released in the united states for about six months) http://travel.yahoo.com/p-travelguide-27... *Tokyo Disneyland http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tdl/i... *Ghibli Museum (Hayato Miyazaki) http://translate.google.com/translate?u=... oh yea dont forget to constatntly ask about student and group discounts. I've been to Japan, just never Tokyo. Maybe you can book a one day tour or something. If that's too hard to do, I would go on a website that offers the tour, and check out some of the places they visit. That might help. Good luck! To get detailed information I would suggest you visit a Japanese Embassy nearest to you. If you call before hand and then visit it will be helpful both ways. The Japanese staff at the embassy are nearly all English speaking so you would have no problem. They can also introduce you to Japanese high schools and international organizations. In some cities they have home stay projects and it will be a great for you to experience a stay with a Japanese family. Before you go to the Japanese embassy you better have some ideas what you want to know . self |
