Good gift for Japanese children?

I wanted to take a box of crayons for a 4-year old japanese boy and 2-year old boy. I know it's a dumb question, but do Japanese kids color? I ask because I know they dont teach creativity in Japan.
So will a box of crayons and coloring book do for each child?

We have had coloring books and crayons for years. I'm 33 years old now and when I was a kid, I used crayons or colored pencils to color the pictures in coloring books (called Nurie or Nurie chou)and still small kids do the same things today. So I don't know how you got the information about Japanese kids don't color or Japan doesn't have coloring books. Who told you that, really???

Anyways, we do have crayons and coloring books but if you want to bring American crayons and coloring books, they would probably love to use them because they are somewhat different.

Where do you get your information? They don't "teach" creativity in Japan? I'm sorry, but your mistaken here. And what does race have to do with what a child would enjoy? All 2 and 4 year olds like to color, just be careful and maybe get the larger sized crayons for the younger boy, then it won't be so easy to break and stick in thier mouth.
what do you mean they don't teach creativity? Don't they do origami anymore, or Suzuki music lessons, or floral arranging?or bon sai?
