Gaijin helpings? |
Travel Info As a beginner without parents and towards life as well as a foreigner in Japan, Do you think It will be easy to permantely move there(especially if you model) ? Travel Tips The hardest thing will be the language barrier so I suggest you try and learn as much as you can when you go out there. I met a lot of gaijin who made no effort with language and meeting Japanese people which seems a bit of a waste of an opportunity to me. Japanese people will appreciate the effort you put in to learn about their culture It will probably help if you go to a foreigners bar when you get there so you can make some friends. Eventually you should be able to meet some Japanese people who speak english and will help with your Japanese. Modelling in Japan for foreigners is relatively easy compared to other countries because foreigners sell well in the media. There are however a lot of women who end up working in hostess bars if their modelling careers don`t take off. There are lots of other jobs for foreigners though like teaching english, working at gaijin bars or clothes shops like Gap. Good luck with everything and have a great time out there. Others You could probably stay on your visitors visa and attempt to find modeling jobs. Then you would go through the workers visa process and that would allow you to live there. It all depends on what the agencies are looking for. I know they are always happy to feature gaijins in commercials and such. good luck! Permantely? It's not easy. Japan government doesn't take immigrant policy. And 98% is Japanese in Japan. They are mono culture and homogeneous nation. No racial diversity. They don't speak English. Japanese men love foreign women. If you are a model, I think you have the potential to be very popular. Do you have a contact there? If you want to move there, you'll need a working visa. You could get another job and do this part time. It is easy to move there if you have a company willing to give you a working visa. I lived there for 3 years and loved it. www.gaijinpot.com Well to be honest you have to be a big name non-white model to get a job in Japan or extremely talented.I am not trying to discourage you in any way.If you are white the possibilities will be better. About a work visa .If you can find employment before coming to Japan it is possible with all the right documents to get a work visa from the Japanese embassy in your country. If you come into Japan and then find a job I think you have to leave the country and apply for a visa. Most people go down to Korea to apply for their visas. self |
