well, I have never been to japan, but I plan on going in a few years. I know that hokkaido is home to spectacular snow and ice festivals. Tokyo I know is basically never ending. Tokyo tower, disneyland, temples... sorry, i wish i knew more!
Tokyo and Hokkaido are as different as night and day. Tokyo is one of the biggest, busiest cities in the world. Hokkaido is Japan's last great nature preserve. In Tokyo, lots of people like to visit Shibuya, a popular district for shopping and nightlife. In Hokkaido, lots of people go to the city of Sapporo for the ice festival (in winter only.) There are also tons of national parks in Hokkaido.
