Is Kyoto still a tight fit like Tokyo? |
Travel Info Thanks to all those who answered my other question, but I have a new one now. ^_^ Is it still pretty cramped in Kyoto like in Tokyo? I mean, for things like houses and apartments, are they as small in Kyoto as they are in Tokyo? Thanks. Travel Tips Kyoto is a very wide open place compared to Tokyo. Kyoto has a lot of restrictions on development in order to preserve the historical nature of the place. It was a planned city to begin with, and the streets were intended to facilitate grand processions so they suit cars just fine without much alteration. Tokyo on the other hand had to be rebuilt twice in the last century, so there wasn't much time for any planning. Others No, it's more open and spacious than Tokyo. No, but Yoko was a tight fit for John. yes i don't think they could make it uncramped with all the houses and stores there well Its not worse then Tokyo I must say A visitor's first impression of the city may be that it is less cramped (city planning), but as far as apartments and houses go, I'd imagine they were about the same. Maybe an apt for an individual would be slightly bigger, but in Japan everything is standardized, windows, doors, kitchen cabinets, etc. Your apt would just depend on how much you wanted to pay, money=space. |
