What to do in Tokyo for 2 days vacation? |
Travel Info I am spending 2 full days in Japan. I want to go to Tokyo. What are the best things to do-sightseeing, shopping areas to visit, nightlife, etc.. all on a reasonable budget? is 40,000 yen enough for 2 days? Travel Tips Shinjuku is the area considered by many to be the heart of modern Japan. It's a fun place to go and just get a feel for Japanese life. There are lots of stores there for shopping, and there are also some free observation decks in the area (such as at the Tokyo Government Building), which can give you great views of Tokyo. Shibuya and neighboring Harajuku are more artistic neighborhoods but are also fun to see. Shibuya crossing is the busiest intersection in the world, and it's amazing watching everybody cross all at once. There's a famous Starbucks overlooking the intersection, where if you're lucky enough to get a window seat, it's fun to sit and people watch for a while. If it's a Sunday, you can go to Harajuku park to see the famed Harajuku girls hanging out at the park entrance. For something more traditional, you might go to the Asakusa shrine. It's very touristy, but very fun. It's also a great place to pick up souvenirs. The fantastic train system should make it easy to get to all these different parts of Tokyo in 2 days. Others reponga (sp?) and ginza, great night life, bring extra cash. Watch Tokyo Drift. Better yet, be part of it. http://www.fred2028.blogspot.com... with only 40,000 yens i would go around tokyo for sigtseeing only, because with 40k yens you might buy a pairs of jeans and a shirt,or a pairs of shoes thought, but i would advise you just eat seafood and sigtseeing and take some pictures, you wanna shop fashion better buy in USA coz it more cheaper!good luck and enjoy! If you like partying, go to Roppongi. Bars and clubs are pretty much open til 6 in the morning. During the day, you can go to the Meiji Shrine in Omotesando which is more on the cultural side of Tokyo. If you like electronics, you can go to Akihabara. It's rows upon rows of skyscrapers which carry nothing but electronics. For shopping definitely hit up Ginza or Omotesando. 40K Yen should be plenty for two days. Most of the costs are gonna be for transportation (mainly subway and train) 40,000 yen should be plenty.Make sure you stay in a capsule hotel. It'll probably be a new experience and it'll only cost you 4-5000 yen.Want to try sushi go to a cheap chain restaurant like sushi ro or kurasushi. One dish costs a 100 yen.Otherwise try family restaurants.Sato is one which provides certain Japanese dishes at a cheap price.Shopping for electronics-go to Akihabara and make sure you bargain.Night life is good but clubs can be very expensive if you don't know which ones to go to.I hope this helps you. |
