Depending on where in the states you are it could be as little as 12 hours and as much as 16. The funny thing is, due to crossing the International Date Line you gain a day and can actually land at your destination before you left Naha.
Just adding to the previous answer. It can actually range from 10-15 hours, if you include Alaska and Hawaii in the United States. 12 hours between Japan and US Pacific time, 13 for Mountain time, 14 for Central, 15 for Eastern.
But yes, you do actually gain a day since you are crossing the International Date Line.
